Hi all !
I believe that we all have a bipolar Bucket.
It is 12 inches deep.

Those with bipola2 have a bucket that is half full
Those with Bipolar 1 have a bucket which is nearly full.

There are several things that go to make up your Bucket contents.

Those with Bipolar 1 must be very careful not to let their bucket spill over
because of the risk of mania and psychosis.

those with Bipolar 2 only ever sometimes get near the top without over over flowing . (Hypomania)

Question so what makes up the current level of your bucket????????
#
Many things possibly some but not all of the following.

Early life trauma
chemical overload and toxins
eating disorders
allergies (food and chemical sensitivities)
food intolerances
Stress causing Anxiety
All causing sensitivity to light and sound
Lack of good nutrition.

If you are caused anxiety for any reason

The above things all go towards filling your bucket up until it overflows ==== equals psychosis and full blown mania.

I believe that we are all very sensitive people.

How emotional are you ?????

Most people start life with an empty Bucket and gradually start to fill it up
with brain stressors as in list above.

THE RESULT BIPOLAR DISORDER AND MENTAL ILLNESS

I am not saying that some of us are not pre programmed and that it is in our
genes which have been past down the generations.

This seems highly likely.

Any thoughts ????????

please believe me I am not crazy but I have been and know what its like !

good luck and good health

Does not make sense to me, sorry.

Where do the lows of BP2 come in? Are mixed states a full bucket too or a bucket on your head?
Thanks for this!

I do not have any of these things?

No early life trauma
Only chemicals are medications overseen by doctors
No eating disorder
No food intolerences
Yep stress - but who doesnt!
I have great nutrition when I have money to! (when I dont my friends feed me home made meals and salads)

I dont fit in your bucket.
Thanks for this!

Sorry supanove I needed to be more accurate with my description.

we all start at half full. Ground Zero !.

Full blown depression is an empty Bucklet
moderate depression is a quarter full

hypomania is thee quarters full
and full blown mania and psychosis is overflowing.

I hope this makes sense.

It was early in the morning and I was half asleep when I wrote this post.

best wishes
good luck and good health

Although if I go too far the other way I have a full bucket then too. I would consider being stable as an empty bucket.

Bucket theory needs more detail, it's somewhat flawed.

As to what causes bipolar, for me.

Early life trauma, (best friend dying young)

Society, and the environment.

Seasons.

Switching from private to public school

And maybe poor nutrition. I've thought more about this lately. I remember eating alot of Mcyd's. I don't eat fastfood anymore.

Sometimes life's faucet is running too fast, sometimes it turns off and pulls the plug. Sometimes the faucet is running so fast while raining that that my bucket tips over and drys up....needed someone to come along and put it back upright.....and the good times? The faucet is running at normal and the plug lets out just enough to keep it half full. Times like those I love my bucket.

I've got hundreds of buckets. Some full, some overflowing, some empty, some upside down.

So are you saying you believe that bipolar disorder is a cause of external factors in life in at least some people? Like ur not always born with it? My pdoc told me I was born this way, but I still wonder sometimes!

According to my understanding...take it as you want...we are genetically predispositioned to exhibit bipolar behavior but don't do so until triggered by stress or trauma or.... Bipolar symptoms on avg. (studies) don't get diagnosed for most until about the early twenties.

Due to this triggering affect, some believe that those who can be bipolar affected don't get triggered and live unaffected lives...but yet to pass the genetics along...true? I don't know.

I lived a trauma filled babyhood, so I've been affected since very young.

I hope my link works in this post. My son learned about the emotional bucket on his first day of kindergarten and educated me on it.
