Do you have a "go to movie" when you feel anxious or down ...

Mine is Jeremiah Johnson, a old Robert Redford nature flick, ... calms me down and gives me back a sense that all will be well ...
a simpler time ...

amazing how our minds work ... Tigger ...

Riverworld, I know it's not a well loaned movie but I love it. The whole concept and the water sounds. Alan Cummings isn't hard on the eye either, he's so deliciously evil.

Brave. A Scottish fairy tail.

Golden compass . Another fantasy.

I forgot; sky captain and the world of tomorrow.

If I want laughter the pink panther or a Wallace and Gromit movie

I'm an odd duck. I'm a 30 yr old atheist dude and my go-to comfort movies are Christmas/holiday movies and romantic comedies. One of my favorites, Just Friends, is both.

Don't know why, exactly, but ... yeah.

(I really wish this was a joke, but it's all too true.)

I definitely love romantic movies that make me cry and give me a nice release. The most recent one like this was Serendipity with John Cusack and Kate Beckinngsale. It was lovely!

I don't know if I can say it really comforting but it's a movie I can identify with: I Melt With You. It is about male mid-life crisis and is deeply emotional. So in a way it is comforting.

!!!! Warning this movie may be very triggering for some people !!!!

You're not alone. Mr. Biscuit and I are both atheists, and we believe strongly in love and kindness. And a movie such as It's a wonderful life (ironically, produced to combat atheism) is one of our favourites. We just like nice people, and you don't have to believe in a deity to appreciate the importance of being kind.

If you haven't seen it already, you may really enjoy Harvey, with James Stewart.

Field of Dreams. That movie gives me goose bumps several times throughout. And near the end when he says "Dad?...you wanna have a catch?" I cry, Every. Single. Time. Not a great movie if you don't want to cry though. But it really is one of my favourite movies, and I watch it at least every other year.

Any movie by Mel Brooks. His comedy is silly and may seem simplistic
but it is actually brilliant and to this day I still watch his movies whenever
they come on T.V.

for some unexplainable reason I go to the Bourne Trilogy. Which is really ironic; my adult son is the spitting image of Matt Damon and I have a really difficult time during the fight scenes. Yet, I go to the movies over and over and over again.

I love the old black and whites with Cary Grant, Katharine Hepburn, Jimmy Stewart, Myrna Loy and William Powell, etc. They're calming because there's not a lot of action. There's usually a display of morals, a happy ending, and the bad guy gets screwed or has a change of heart. I also love comedies like Superbad that are just stupidly funny.

I like action movies like Iron Man, Avengers, the Transporter, etc, but they're not calming for me. They make me pretty wired.

Wobbly that reminds me, the thin man series is great. Light fun and a cute dog. Very calming and lighthearted.

I agree with this one. This first one in the series is still my favourite.

Nora: Are you packing?

Nick: I'm just putting away this liquor.

oh, I don't think that was the first one, maybe it was the second.
