My doc thinks I have bipolar II but I read that you can just have medicine induced hypomania instead. It happens when on antidepressants, and once on Prednisone for whooping cough I had two years ago.

Been hypomanic for weeks now on Prozac 40mg but think I'm coming down because yesterday I felt soooo depressed. All the things I was excited for last week are GONE. Getting ready for the garage sale was such a GREAT idea and now I don't even want to do it. It's like another person organized the sale stuff and put it in a certain area to mark prices and now I'm looking at the area like WHAT DID I DO??

When I am manic I love going on the pc and when I come down it makes me NOT INTERESTED whatsoever in going online. I also make a lot of lists when manic. Shopping? Still hate it and have had no desire to do it so that is a win win for all lol.

Glad to have a supportive website.

I'm not positive but I think even if it's med-induced it still indicates bipolar. But I'm not sure about that so don't quote me. I hope you come down gently.

Meds would not induce hypomania if you were not bipolar. Thats kind of a warning sign that you are bipolar.

I agree with mistress. If it is a med induced hypo it can not be diagnosed as bipolar. If they rule that the meds aren't causing it then it could be a BP diagnosis.
