I can't shut off the pain. Just yesterday I was loving life but today has been incredibly difficult. I don't like the way I feel. I'm not sure if this is a bipolar thing or a PTSD thing. My heart still grieves.

Hello (((YODA))).
I am sorry that you are struggling at this time with your moods and your losses. I like the suggestion above from (((DIRECTION))) to call a therapist to help you through this rough time you are having at this time. Perhaps joining a support group will help you I attend NAMI and DBSA groups and that helps at times when you feel no one understands and you feel alone. I know that exercise (walking and singing) have helped me tremendously with self esteem issues. Also watching comedies seem to help as well. I hope things get better for you soon (((YODA))). Hope. Healing. Taking a walk. Maybe a good therapist can help. Hang in there.

I like to practice mindfulness meditation during rough times. Find someplace quiet. Sit or lay in a comfortable position and close your eyes. Try to focus on your breathing, and nothing else. Pay attention to one particular aspect of the breath if it's too hard to focus on breathing as a whole. For instance, the feel of the air moving out your nostrils or mouth as you exhale, or the rise of the chest when you inhale. When a thought breaks your concentration, acknowledge that thought and accept it for what it is, neither good or bad. This is important. It is what it is. Then try to focus on breathing again. Try not to think of thoughts as good or bad, better or worse, right or wrong. They simply are what they are. I don't know if it will make you feel better or not, but it just might help to settle down your mind and make it easier to get through the day.

Taking a walk is a great one.. it always helps me... i use it as a kind of meditation, zone out and let my mind take care of itself and work out whatever it's trying to deal with and not over-analyze it.
The only thing you can do is seek comfort in a way that appeals to you, and wait until the storm passes. Stay safe Ashtyxo |
