Just upped my Geodon from 40 to 60mg last night. I am soooo tired. I expected to be a little groggy and sluggish, but I couldn't even keep my eyes open. Will my body acclimate, or will it be like this?

I hope so, I missed work today because of it. I'm hypo right now. I personally feel like it's a mixed episode, but I don't want to jump to conclusions so that's why I asked if I could up the dose faster than my pdoc originally wanted.

Hopefully you'll get used to it.

Geodon confuses me because once in awhile it makes me sleepy, but then it gives me insomnia, but then it doesn't affect my sleep at all. It's very odd.

I recommend a SAD therapy light. I've had mine about two weeks and really notice a difference. I use it first thing in the morning then feel rather energetic throughout the day. I sleep better now too.
Thanks for this!

You'll probably get used to it. You're on a small dose and will likely do just fine when you go up to 60 mg. Don't do anything about your meds without your pdoc's knowledge and approval though.

Oh I never ever mess with my meds. I called him to see if we could speed up the process and he called the script in for 60mg. Thanks

It's given me insomnia the past three nights. Even seroquel has been failing me as far as sleepy med goes! Maybe tonight it'll make us tired.

I take 160 mgs of Geodon at night and can stay awake for hours with it.... you should be able to adjust in time. Leave a light on and take the Geodon right at supper to help with the sleepies.

I have been on Geodon for the past 2-3 years and it still makes me somewhat sleepy but not too much. I usually take two pills (60mg each) at once around noon and sleep in the afternoon. I kinda like that it puts me to sleep. I have been very stable ever since I have been on Geodon. Very happy with it.
