Ok my husband is in the angry part of his cycle. He's systematically ruining our relationship with our best friend. The guy that gets custody of our son if anything happens. The one who is supposed to make medical decisions if we can't. I'm not well and I even see this. I don't have the tact to tell my husband without starting WWIII. I'm not going to go behind his back and say yes he's cycling but you're being an *** too. I just don't know what to do. This is literally our last and only friend. How do I save this when my attention span is nill?

Can you try to explain it to your friend? Tell him your husband isn't feeling well?

I was thinking the same thing. It might be more productive to talk to your friend than your husband. Hopefully he would understand that whatever's going on is due to your husband's illness. He is invested in helping you guys out in a crisis—not just anybody would do that. He must have a big heart and just from how you described him it seems he would ride this out.

My husband's anger has never been directed at our friend so naturally our friend is hurt. He's starting to see our friendship as a phase. How a 15 year friendship is a phase I don't know. I'm guessing I have to look for a new advocate for when we're both sick.
