Although I have been diagnosed as bpd among other things. I have really felt I am rapid cycling over the last six months I have notices just being overly aroused for no reason. Like today I am happy then sad fell like crying happy sad and I am sooo aroused it is rediculous. Any input would be great so I can tell my psych doctor

Rapud cycling is 4 or more episodes a year, they do not typically happen in a day, this kind of mood switching is generally bpd related.

What have you tried so far to help?

I try breathing. That's all that has ever helped any. The hyper sexuality part has gotten worse the last probably 6 months. I have heard of ultra rapid cycling is there really such a thing or mixed.

It is very uncommon to have cycles that quickly unrelated to personality and triggers. Have you tried journalling? Can you pinpoint when your thoughts change?

Hypersexuallity is extremely common in BPD but it is often blamed on mania due to the shame patients feel.

My appointment with my psych doc is this week so I will try and talk about this then
She is not the one who has diagnosed me with what I am. But I can talk to her a lot easier

A question and a thought. First, when you say BPD, do you mean bipolar disorder, or borderline personality disorder?

Now for the thought: of you are going through any hormonal changes, especially ovulation, this can cause a significant increase in your sex drive unrelated or only loosely related to either disorder.
