I'm starting to get those muscle twitches and tightness in my legs. I didn't sleep at all last night. I've often heard this happen because of APs? I don't think it's my seroquel because I've been on it for 10 years just fine and its a small dose. I recently started with a new pdoc. That comes with new meds I suppose so I can't put my finger on which one is causing this. Im thinking Abilify. All of these meds are new besides seroquel. Here's a list...

Lamictal titrating at 50mg now
Buspar 45mg
Abilify 20 mg
Seroquel 100 mg PRN at night
Vyvanse 50 mg PRN for binge eating
Ativan 1 mg 3x's PRN.

Ugh I HATED that side effect. I got it with both abilify and risperdal. It's the worst.

It can be treated with a drug called cogentin. I had it pretty badly this summer and was also on valium to help it. Maybe call your pdoc and ask about cogention/other treatments before stopping the abilify? It really can help.

It's probably the Abilify. I have had some problems like this on that drug and even other newer AP's. Cogentin is usually the first med they'll give you for side effects like that.

Good luck.

I vote for Abilify being the culprit.. Cogentin is often given. I personally had a problem that for me to take a med I had to take another one to tolerate the first .

It took about three weeks or so for it to go away completely, but it improved pretty quickly after I stopped taking it.

I second the abilify! I got it with Seroquel, but it was an 800 mg dose and right as I started using it.
