I've recently started back on lithium. This being the second time I've been on lithium in the last 7 months now. I feel like I can really notice my mood beginning to level out 2 weeks in. The only problem is now I feel restless & bored again, same thing that happened last time & caused me to stop cold turkey which was poor decision making at its finest. I tried to explain this too my pdoc & see if I can try valproate or lamotrigine but he said lithium first. It's like it works but doesn't. I'm sick of this general feeling of discontent. Anyone else here on lithium? Can you relate?

Ive been on lithium for 10 yrs but ive never taken it alone. Maybe you need to add something else? Also 2 weeks isnt a long time. Our bodies need at least a month to adjust. Give it a bit more time. If things dont change talk to pdoc. Good luck.

I'm taking 40mg fluoxetine aswell. Which has done a good job at improving depressive symptoms. Last time I was taking lithium the antidepressant I was on was doing squat. So I've improved but just feel like there's something missing. I should probably be happy I'm stabilising not complaining that I don't feel like I did before all this started.

I'm on lithium and it took me a long time to titrate up to my therapeutic dose (1500mg). I was still really depressed so I did 40 rounds of TMS and added 120mg of Cymbalta.

I was titrated up to 1200 when I was put on it once in the hospital really quickly. At first it pulled me out of a manic turned hellla mixed episode (along with seroquel )and it was good.but like you as time went on I despised it...felt bored stupid slow

I take lithium along w a few other meds, you can see them in my signature. I think most people don't take lithium alone. I know what you mean with that kind of bored feeling, like things are going alright, but behind that emotion is a discontent, disappointment. maybe another med can help with that symptom that hasn't been cleaned up by the L.
