I'm trying to get a handle on my symptoms without being a zombie all day. The problem is, when my pdoc prescribes something for sleep, I'm tired the next day. When I don't take it, I'm awake. We decided that I would try melatonin again. The last time I tried it, it was pre diagnosis and pre BP meds. It's not working. I really don't want to try Ativan. Sigh . . . Maybe. I will get a few hours in tonight.

Usually if you take the sleep aids consistently for long enough, the next-day hangover goes away. If not, cutting the dose helps and once your body gets acclimated you can increase it. It usually takes me between 3 days and a week to acclimate; beyond that, I'm lowering the dose.
