Hi, there.

I've just picked up my very first prescription for Lamictin (Lamictal). It sits here, next to me- this little package. I'll be handing over my moods to this little package. Even though I've read about what to expect on as many sources as I could find, I'm still nervous about it. I'm nervous, and as scared as hell about starting this journey. Ironically, I've already begun, haven't I?

...

This thread stems from my nervousness to start these meds. How has Lamictal served you? What are your experiences with it? Did it help? Are you for it, or against it? I'd love to hear about your experiences.

Thank you in advance for sharing. Take care, and stay blessed.

I take 300 mgs of lamictal. It works really well. I was on 400 mg, but the cognitive side effects were rough. You have to start at a really low dose, so you won't get nasty side effects. If you develop a rash call your pdoc immediately and you will prob have to go off of it. Good luck.

Hey sweets....it's worked wonders for me with little side effects. I was apprehensive at first like taking all new drugs, but it really didn't "change" me, just made me stabile. I'm taking 300 mg for over a few years.

Be sure to follow the instructions on how to start and give it time to work. I hope it helps you like it has helped me.

I love lamictal. I've been on it for four years now, currently at 300mg. It's great. No side effects. Hope it works for you!

I'm a lamictal superfan. No side effects except maybe some slight fogginess, but that may be due to other things. I'm on a small dose as well.

I was on it for a while and I liked it. I'd rather be on it than the Depakote I'm on now. My pdoc prescribed a B vitamin complex to help with the cognitive issue.

I've been on lamictal since I was diagnosed eight-nine years ago. I have had no side effects, and is the one medicine I will never come off of.

I LOVE lamictal. Love it. I have had zero side effects and did really well on 125 mg for several years until a bout of postpartum depression ended up with me adding seroquel XR. For me it was very very effective with no negative effects.

And oh...I get this content feeling from it too. I mentally feel satisfied if everything is okay which helps curb the desire to drink and drug.

Yes this for me too! It has helped me make, ah, let's say healthier lifestyle choices, to cope with the mood stuff.

It was my life preserver. I'm one of the people that suffer from daylight darkness....when the time changes in the fall. I started going through a deep depression. My pdoc upped a med I was already taking and it did nothing. Then she put me on Lamictal. Once I reached therapeutic level I was out of the darkness.

LOVE ME SOME LAMICTAL!!!! Sorry, for the caps, but I had to really show you how I feel about it! LOL

I've been on lots of meds with it and nothing has helped but I was newly diagnosed in June with BP and I'm now just on it (I've been on several other BP meds with it the past few months and nothing has worked). I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be the trick and it's the only thing I take! Keep us updated!
