I have a question. I recently went through a few small episodes of psychosis for the first time. I am confused about the whole situation. All three times I have heard what I can only explain is a dragging noise like furniture. When I read experiences on here it's voices, music, etc. Has anyone experienced something that wasn't what I listed, similar to mine, but of course not dragging furniture?

For me the beginning of psychosis (when it's still relatively mild) typically includes warped perceptions of my five senses, as opposed to full-blown manifestations. I know that a common issue is that I will perceive the sound of my own breathing as a foreign, unknown noise (I won't recognize that it's my own breathing), and at times to me it has sounded like something sliding across carpeting. One time I was convinced that something was moving around the house and became extremely distressed because I couldn't figure out what it was and thought it might even be paranormal. In the end it was my own breathing.

Not exactly the same thing but I hear thunder sometimes...right outside the house. Most of the time, if I hallucinate though it is voices or laughter as you mentioned. I once hallucinated Jesus descending from Heaven. Since I was at the time hyper religious, it was not only terrifying but also incredible.

I've heard keys jingling and thought there was an intruder in our apartment even if it was impossible, but other than that one time I don't get auditory.

Sometimes I hear scratching on the walls. I always go see if the cat's using the litter box, almost always it's not. Then I check the doors just in case my husband or daughter were beaten senseless and could only crawl home and scratch at the door for help?! When I've exhausted all possibilities, it stops......until I get back in bed.

You listed music as a possible auditory hallucination? I do not hear "dragging" sounds or anything but I definitely have music playing in my head all day everyday, from the moment I wake up usually. I never considered it to be a hallucination. When I'm not doing anything, it plays in my head so clearly that I might as well be listening to it on an ipod at low volume. It can be great..but equally as annoying, if it's a song I don't like!

I also have heard music like this. It usually happens if I've had a stretch of sleepless nights or if things are going downhill for me. It's sort of a sign telling me I need to ask someone for help.

I have heard music outside my head (hallucination)
And then the insane musical bombardment in racing thoughts which is actually way worse lol
