I THINK that I am coming out of my hypomanic episode. After a week. I no longer feel hypersexual but I still have some erotic feelings, under control.
I still can't get much sleep and it's beginning to make me feel badly both mentally and physically. I don't recall, now, the last day that I slept for more than 2-3 hours. And it's causing heightened anxiety, too. It's not a feeling that I recall ever experiencing. I had a long, long conversation with my GP yesterday. If anyone has any medication advice, I'm certain that he would phone anything into my pharmacy. The only problem that I could foresee is that I'm already taking one 1mg Xanax, one 10mg Ambien, 200mg of Seroquel, 150mg of trazadone and 60mg of morphine sulfate ER* at bedtime. But I've been taking those dosages regularly and still not sleeping. In the midst of the mania I was not sleeping but still full of energy. Now I am sapped of any energy and just feel anxious and weird, even to the point where I've felt that I might faint. Help or suggestions, please? I'm not even sure what to tell my doctor. Thank you. *My GP wrote the wrong scripts for my morphine. My normal intake is 100mg IR tablet in the morning and two 100mg IR tablets at bedtime. I haven't felt any more painful since beginning these 30mg ER pills last Thursday, but I haven't slept since then, either, so I don't know if this is abort of withdrawal or not. |

You need a psychiatrist not a GP. Do you see one? You are on a ton of sedating meds already.

I see a therapist (doctor of psychology) a psychopharacologist (who I hate) who actually prescribes my medication. I'm going to fax my GP a letter and ask him, as he wanted to do yesterday, put scripts in the mail for my normal morphine.
The earliest appt I could get with my therapist was Dec 7. I believe that I'm out of the manic stage or, at least, almost out of it. Yes, my therapist thinks that I am on far too many sedating meds as well. But I have been on all of those meds since 2003 and am 'accustomed' to them (addicted? Dependent?). Thanks for such a quick reply. |

If you went down that much on your dose of morphine, you are probably going through withdrawals. Which are awful and can certainly mess with your sleep.

Geodon works for me and I wake up feeling rested and well.

Never heard of it!
But I'll check it out and if it looks as it might work, I'll talk to my doc. Thanks so much... |

yw! It comes in generic, too. Take it at night with 500 calories. Of course, follow your dr's instructions but that is protocol. xo
