I will be spending Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Eve working and then alone. I volunteered for all of the holiday shifts since I knew I would have no plans, and some people have children and such they should get to spend holidays with.

I guess on the plus side, the store will probably be a ghost town on Christmas Day, so at least I won't have to deal with as many assmonkey customers. Ż\_(ツ)_/Ż

On Christmas, my kids will be with their dads, my parents will be away for the winer and my sister will be around. We might go see a movie and then go out to eat if I can afford it, but I don't think I can, so I will likely stay home and watch Lifetime movies alone. Last year was my first Christmas partially alone (after returning home from hanging out with my sister) and it was horrible. I shouldn't care because Hanukkah is out holiday, but since we have always celebrated both, it is lonely to not have my boys home with me.

My support group matches up those who will be alone with someone willing to include them (I had a few people over for last Xmas Eve who otherwise would have been alone),

My local university has a similar program pairing up groups of people for the holidays.

I've also heard of Meet Up (no it's not a hook up site) groups that do the same, kind of like a penpal group for individuals who will likely be alone.

If you go to a church, let them know you may be alone.

There are a lot of alternatives to being alone.

My girls, who are both in college, will be in TN this Christmas. Their uncle & his partner are getting married on the 26th. We will celebrate prior to them leaving and I'm thinking I'll be here myself. (I'll do the Thanksgiving feast with family...)

I don't know yet what I'll be doing on Christmas. I know I won't be doing much. Most likely going to early dinner with my daughter, son in law, and husband (he and I don't live in the same residence). My son will probably be doing his own thing.

If it turns out that I'll be alone on Christmas I will go to a movie. I know one thing...I'll be checking in on PC.

I'll be here for thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years too. I don't want to be with a bunch of strangers IRL, I'd rather be here.

i often wonder why i celebrate myself.. put up the lights, eat the turkey, play christmas music.. when in reality their's no one here to care less.

i think because it's the only happyness i get in my life (if you can call it happyness), so that's why i do it

I do put up my xmas tree n decorations. Salvation army delivers the people in my building including me Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, so I do celebrate. I really enjoy having a Christmas tree. In fact will be putting it up soon. But it is just for me and I don't mind being alone. My daughter and her family are down here but my grandson is very young and she is very busy. I don't have a car so trying to transport me can be a burden. But I also get tired very easily. So it's fine for me not to see them then.
