How do you know you're productive human being or know that you're manic? Today sign up to teach a class and help my husband teach four other classes. In three different locations at three different buildings on seperate days. Plus I'm going to start a coding class and an art class because my husband wants me to be lead art director for a game that he's making. This doesn't mean I'm not getting divorced it just means I'm busy while deciding.

Oooh, honey. If one of us made a post like yours, you'd probably be telling us to see our pdoc. You sure sound manic to me. Are you taking your meds the way they were prescribed?

I would think with the changes in medications ...taking them correctly and use of PRNs your going to be a bit all over the place. So you have massivly over extended yourself , it happens, probably is due to hypo/mania being around, So cut back and do what you are able to do.

Kudos to you for placing the " Divorce stuff" on the back burner and giving it time to determine whether Bipolar is at play or if you and him do in fact need to think about a seperation.

I imagine it's often a combination of both. Because when my mind is cranking upwards, I actually tend to become less productive, my head will be too far up in the clouds (stormy or sunny), and I will be obsessing over things that ultimately distract me form important work. I will also become far less patient and tolerant about annoyances involved in productive work and can easily develop a "whatever" attitude about it. So I don't think a high mood automatically equates to being more productive. I think that chances are, you are a naturally very productive person, but hypo/mania can allow one to push it too far, so when the hypo bottoms out, it's too much.
Thanks for this!
