I'm doing this diet because my wife wanted to do it and if I do it with her it helps her out a lot. I have been really good about it and have lost some poundage quickly, but am cheating on one item tonight.

Against all that is holy in the book of south beach, I'm drinking about 750 ml of wine tonight. It feels veeeeery good........... Screw the diet

It is great you are being supportive...part of her surport to you changing your diet is not to be upset when you decide you need a small detour...Three glasses of one might be a larger indulgence depending on your meds...but hey I'm not always that good at following my advice...
