Dear Santa please make people understand that the food banks just don't need tins of soup, or pack of KD, but they need cat and dog food too.

Dear Santa please let the churches stay open tonight (-30) so that the homeless people have someplace warm to sleep

This may offend someone, but in my opinion food banks are for people who don't have enough money to buy enough food for themselves. If you're in that position, having a pet (one you can't care for) is selfish and not-smart.

I disagree. Sometimes people have pets before they become destitute and can't part with their family members and would feed them before they feed themselves. I know that my fur babies would get fed before me. I don't find it selfish at all.

Dear Santa--please help those who have to deal with others who are hard to deal with during this time of year. Angry shoppers, dysfunctional families, etc. Give those who suffer a supporting shoulder and warm arms to console them.

Dear Santa -- please make people eat vegan this holiday so that animals will be able to live through and not get slaughtered.

Dear Santa, please think of the workers like medical personnel and police officers who have to work holidays so other families can enjoy theirs in relative safety.

Dear Santa, please use your apparent god-like powers to end world hunger and human greed. (The latter takes care of the first, actually.)

For Santa so loved the world, that he gave his only red-nosed reindeer, that whosoever believes in him and leaves cookies out at Christmas shall not perish, but have everlasting life.

You have a point, but sometimes a pet like say a dog is a lonely persons only friend.

You are right, you are offensive.
I wonder how many people on this site are alive because they have a pet?
I wonder how many people rely on their pet for love, the only thing in their life that loves them?
The only love they've known that was not abusive, or destructive
I wonder how many people go without just to be able to feed and care for their pet(s)?

I will raise my hand high because, many years ago, I was one of those people.
And today I am grateful that I can help those that still are
