No, actually, he said "Lithium". I got an official diagnosis today - BPII. I had previously been diagnosed as BP NOS but my negative activity over the past month has been pretty severe. I walked out on my family a few weeks ago and got into a huge blowout with my mom (an undiagnosed BP who refuses help and seeks medicine men and faith healers for guidance).

Thus the call for Lithium. I am nervous but at the same time thankful I have a more firm direction. I'll still be on Depakote and need to make all sorts of changes to diet, lifestyle, etc. because everything will add up to me being dehydrated but the good news is I won't be having Coke and donuts for breakfast anymore. From now on, it's Bran Flakes for me, baby!

I am hopeful I can just get back to normal and not dwell on being BP every day, although that's probably wishful thinking.

It'll probably take awhile to get past over-thinking your diagnosis. It only happened for me after I'd been stable for some time, and that's only been in the last year. Don't worry about it, the time will come when the dx won't occupy your mind. :-)

It's good to hear you're on the right path now. I've been drinking lots of gatorade to combat that lithium induced dehydration cause water doesn't seem to do it for me anymore. It's been working quite well

PK, yeah I'm sort of worried about that when I'm combining it with the Depakote (at least for now). Thanks for the advice - I need to get away from the soda.
