I have chronic pain every single day and I am also Bipolar, Bpd, PTSD and Scitzoeffective, I can't smoke marijuana because I flip out for one thing, I have tried all kinds of pain meds and they will start giving me psychosis, Even if I cut them in half, Then the ones that do work I become violently ill from and never want to take again, Has this happened to any one else, I am so drug sensitive to everything

I THINK there's meds out there for pain now that are non-narcotic. I'm not positive though. But alL through my life even with my substance issues, pills were never my thing. For one codeine makes me crazy dysphoric! If I do have to take them then I take them before bed so I can sleep through the anger and anxiety. I've also heard of others getting this way so it's not uncommon. I've heard that suboxone helps with pain. I'm not going to flood this with what I feel about suboxone though. Just don't go there unless it's a last resort! That's about all I know. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful!

Lyrica and gabapentin work for nerve pain, if that's the kind of pain you're experiencing.

Tramadol isn't a narcotic and might work. In some cases they can prescribe antidepressants for chronic pain/Fibromyalgia. I'm not sure if you mean nerve pain but yeah like raspberry said Gabapentin or Lyrica could work for that.

They do have pain patches but I think they're used as a last resort

I used to have constant neck and shoulder pain. After starting seroquel, even at a low dose, the pain went away. Never found out if it's the med or just a coincidence. Tylenol or motrin work for most of my aches and pains.

I had major surgery on my ankle 2 years ago and was given prescription strength aleve (naproxen). It worked better than the norco I took initially in many ways and is still my go-to whenever I have arthritic pain or slightly injure the ankle gain.
