I'm just wondering what everyone's life situations are like. If you feel comfortable, if you could answer the following questions, that would be great:

____________________________________________

Are you on disability?

Do you pay for your own food/housing?

Do you have a job?

Have you been hospitalized?

____________________________________________

If you're curious the answers for me are No, No, Yes, No.

Just a curiosity thing. No judgment here. You don't have to answer if you don't want to.

Hello,

1. I am not on disability, never have been. Checked into it before.

2. I pay for my own food/housing for me and my family of 4.

3. I work full time and have had a full time salary job since 2000.

4. I have been hospitalized 4 times in my life, once by my parents, once on my own, twice by the police.

I hope this information help you, Risu!

Just a curiosity thing. No judgment here. You don't have to answer if you don't want to.

I'm not on disability even though every pdoc I've seen has said they consider me disabled. I just can't afford to wait for the whole process and not work. Also I haven't been able to hold down a decent paying job for a long period to pay into SS so I wouldn't get much if I did get it. Yea it's a catch 22 and it's BS. However I did get what they call a "closed period" back pay after a hospitalization. I had to prove in front of a judge that I couldn't work for a period of about a year and I got about 10k. It was gone quickly after paying my property taxes that were so behind, I was going to lose my home.

I bought my house with inheritance from my mom. Without that money I would be sleeping in my car. So I'm thankful for that. As far as food goes, I get state help but not enough. So I can afford good food for about 2 wks until I have to pay out of pocket.

I just got a new job a month ago even though I don't feel mentally ready yet. My bills are piling up and far behind so I had no choice but to get back into work. I already had a panic attack in the job and was sent home! Yea, embarrassing!

[trigger] I've been in IP 3 times after suicide/OD attempts. It's no vacation that's for sure!
