Last night i walked down the stairs and fell. Somehow it broke the bottom of my foot. I feel okay because im on pain pills. Im just worried because they make me feel like everything is A okay, even though things have been kind of hard lately. I was kind of wondering this morning why they just dont prescribe pain pills for depression since i feel great. But im sure its not really supposed to work like that. Ive taken pain pills before, for instance a waterskiing accident and car accident and never got addicted, but whatever they gave me, its strong stuff! My aunt asked if she could buy the pain pills off me. I obviousely said no. I dont think ill become addicted, but it runs in my family. But i dont want to worry. I guess its probably good i can realize the pills are addictive and stay careful. Hoping for a speedy recovery!

Sorry about your unfortunate accident. That sounds painful. I wish you a speedy recovery as well. You have good insight about addiction and you are wise to be careful.

Yes, I have pain pills and I've noticed the same thing. I have something that isn't as addictive, but I've read they still can be. I told the psychiatrist about how they make me feel better. She says as a psychiatrist she can't prescribe those and made no comment about how they help. Anyway, I'm terrified of addiction since my mom had that problem. They sit in my cubbard. I only take one if I actually have pain, and I avoid doing stuff so I don't need to take them. My regular doc said don't take them everyday. I rarely take one.

Sorry you broke your foot . I'm glad you have pain meds to help you. Of course I agree with the others and advise you to be careful. But I'm glad you have them now when you need them

*Opiate drugs have a chemical structure that's very similar to your body's natural feel-good chemicals, endorphins. This allows them to partake of the endorphin receptors and ultimately overtake their place in your body.
Like an evil twin, the drug's molecules lock onto the endorphin-receptor sites on nerve endings in the brain and begins the succession of events that leads to euphoria and/or analgesia.*
Like a fake endorphin high. Sorry about your foot...there's nothing worse than being in pain...and off balance. Be careful!

I am so sorry that you broke your foot ,, Ack !

I doubt the amount of pain pills they have given you is something that you would get addicted on.

As for pain pills lifting your mood.. Yes it can and its great but that feeling wont last long.

Feel better

I forgot to add--I am so good at breaking my foot! Also, I had a foot surgery and was told I'm prone to problems and might need more surgery. I gave up and bought a knee scooter on Amazon. Last time I broke the foot I had the boot in stock and ready to go! I'm pretty good at getting around w broken foot. You get used to it.

I am sorry you have to go through this!
