|
what is the best med for anxiety for bipolar? Just curious. I need something but don't know what would be good. If you have anxiety, what do you take? I know everyone is different but just curious.

I take Klonopin. It's long-acting and helps with sleep as well. I used Ativan for years and still have it as a PRN, but I seldom take it now.

I take gabapentin. It works very well. Seroquel helped a lot, but I'm not on that anymore. I also take propranolol as a prn for panic attacks. Good luck!

used xanex for a long time to get things "under control" ... now use buspar as a maintance ...

Klonpin is probably the best Ive had but I also abused it quite a bit and with my history of drug/alcohol problems I doubt I'll be able to get a prescription for it again any time soon.

As far as a maintenance drug, buspar has been a godsend. For PRN use I've found klonopin to be best for me.

I have klonopin (use daily), valium (for not sleeping, just a tiny dose because sleeping pills don't do anything nor do meds that are supposed to make you sleepy, but it does good things for anxiety) and hydroxyzine as needed. All 3 are good.

I've heard that Buspar is good. I've never taken it but I had a friend say it really helped her (also bipolar).

A low dose of Paxil helps my assorted anxiety problems, including PTSD.
I cannot promote daily benzo use....
