I've always thought that this was kind of silly, but my mom used to use one of those artificial sunlight (like this: Verilux HappyLight Liberty Natural Spectrum Energy Lamp - BedBathandBeyond.com) lamps each morning, she said it helped manage circadian rhythms and help her feel more energized.

I use a light box to manage my SAD. While it may sound silly, it works for me especially when the sun doesn't come out for days at a time. I use it from late October through March. I believe in its utility to manage my winter blues.

I have a light box and a dawn simulator. I don't use them enough.
