So, yesterday I hit bottom HARD! As you guys know I've been taking Latuda for a little over two weeks now. I started at 20mg for two days, then 40mg for a week, and now I've been on 60mg for a week. The akathisia started about Tuesday evening. I had no idea what it was. It has progressively gotten worse and yesterday was insane. I had been taking a few of my husbands Propronolol pills because I read online that it can help. I went to my therapists office yesterday and actually had to leave because I couldn't sit still and was miserable, and also because I took something she said personally. I don't know if I would have usually taken that personally if it wasn't for the akathisia. It makes me nutty.

So, I called my pdoc when I got home practically crying. She called me back and actually had the Latuda rep in her office! They said the first line of defense is Propronolol and she called me in a high dose of 30mg x 3 a day. The Latuda rep said that it slowly goes away. Is that true, or are they lying? I personally am considering not taking it this morning or here after. It's disappointing too since I thought it was helping me mentally.

BTW, I had to have my husband come home from work yesterday because I couldn't be alone and cried all last evening! He hasn't seen me like that in a loooong time!

I didn't have it that bad and it did go away. I just waited til bed time to take it with my sleep meds and propranolol and slept though the worse of it.

I'm sorry. I had the akathisia hit me twice, and both times it was so uncomfortable. I was very lucky that it didn't come back.
I understand how you would be upset with having a Latuda rep in your p-docs office as they are taking a call with you. That should be your time, not your time + a sales reps. I'd definitely address that with your p-doc, and let him know that you value confidentiality.
Really torn.. Latuda has really helped me be stable, but you may want to consider other options, given your side effects. They sound horrid.

It didn't go away for me until I went back down to 40mg. But that dose did nothing for my symptoms and I just stopped taking it.

My pdoc yanked it this afternoon and has me starting Nuerontin. I'm still shaky and my anxiety is bad but hopefully each day I will feel better. I just want to find a med that works on my mood AND my body can handle. You would think in 2016 that would be possible! It's depressing.
