I see that a lot, if not all of us have other MI that come along with BP. So what else do you have?

I also have BPD, had insomnia before my BP DX (which is what actually lead me to my first pdoc), anxiety, eating disorders, PTSD, OCD (usually only when I'm hypo), substance abuse, and I'm probably forgetting one lol. And then there's the buttload of meds to treat all these separate things! Yikes.

My bipolar I was downgraded to bipolar II by my new Pdoc.
Not that it matters to me. The meds are the same.
I've only seen 2 Pdocs. I've never been tested for anything else.
Althought this new one mentioned ADHD casually. Which I know I don't have.
My bipolar was diagnosed at 62. Who cares what else an old fart has, hehe.

Bipolar II and GAD. If I could choose to get rid of one of them I would keep bipolar depression over anxiety any day.

BTW... I was completely unaware of a few of my diagnosis's until a lawyer got my files for a closed period of disability case! He sat down and said "did you know you have BPD and PTSD too?" Nice way to find out eh? Thanks pdocs for not bothering to let me know!

Hi RX Queen. I was reading an article that stated Bipolar usually always came with personality disorder and pstd.
Sounds right to me.
Just as long as I don't lose my credit cards. Bank acct. and right to spend money.

I think it's interesting how a lot of BP people have GAD as well. I, too, have GAD.

My first diagnosis was ADHD + GAD + OCD + depression (this was in 2013). My second diagnosis (2015) was BP 1 + GAD. My pdoc thinks I have OCD and ADHD still, but considers them provisional diagnoses while we work on treating the BP.

Hey RxQueen, like your description of "butt load of meds," my husband teases me about how long it takes me to take my evening meds, includes 2 eye drops for glaucoma, 1-2 inhalers for asthma, other stuff and supplements, and the psyc meds, too!

First diagnosis was ptsd, then anxiety, then depression, then ocd, finally a year ago, settled on bp2, anxiety, and major depression reoccurring. I'm also recovering alcoholic. That's enough good stuff for several people.

Lol right! You should see my nightstand! It's aaallll my BP meds. It's pretty embarrassing and not to mention a pain to remember what to take and when. My first DX was major depression and anxiety then two years later at 18 it was BP2. Then the rest was just a few years ago. I'm now 28 and dealing with all the rest of it! It's a lot to handle and a lot of meds to take.

Bipolar I and bipolar II both suck in their own ways, not necessarily a "downgrade" imo
As far as other diagnoses for myself, nothing official. But like others I tend to self-diagnose

I definitely have one of those days of the week pill cases that I thought was only for "old people". But I just recently bought a new one because the other one was too small and it was hard to get the morning meds out without sometimes dumping everything out (the Trileptal pills are huge and take up all the room lol) to get to them. The new one is larger so I can see and get to them all easily.

My Pdoc isnt about a ton of labels... He said he has yet to meet someone with Bipolar that doesn't deal with Anxiety,Sleep issues and times of Depression... its the nature of the beast " Bipolar"

So I don't really understand why some Pdocs flings lots of labels. I appreciate my "ole school " Pdoc
