My Meds are less expensive if I get the Pdoc to write for 90 days and get Meds by mail. Only one copayment each. Instead of each month and a higher copayment at CVS.

I haven't been to a mall in years. I once went to a Sears outlet store we call bang and dent, for a dishwasher.
Got that and they had new swim suits $2.00 each piece. Filled my cart with different sizes as my weight fluctuates depending on the Meds.
I visit Builders Surplus for Tile-granite and porcilian for projects.

All my credit cards are no fee. We pay off 100% auto pay each month. So we're using their money for free.

I make beans from dry beans instead of buying in the can. Tremendous savings.

Here on the ranch I eat fresh coconut. Papaya. Bananas. Plantains. Chillis. Lemons. Pipa juice. Cilantro. Yuca.

I shop at Savers for clothes.
Get my husbands running shoes online. No tax. Free shipping.

What kind of ideas do you have?

I buy all my socks at once time and they're identical, so when one gets lost or gets a hole in it, I can just toss it.

I buy chicken in bulk, cook it and freeze it.

I do a lot of meal planning so I can use left overs in something else.

We drink mostly water, not milk or juice. I wash only on cold. We keep our cars until they fall apart. My friends and I pass down kids' clothing.

My backyard is my entertainment zone. I just saw the first robin of the season in the raspberry bed. I dream of a small flock of chickens and a couple of beehives. For date night this month, we're gonna eat at home, then go to a concert of Irish musicians. And a lot of the ideas already posted.

Sunday night people blow up fireworks and play loud music on the beach. I can see the whole show from my Living Room couch.

I do that with the black socks too.

I grocery shop by the ounce - trying to spend less then 12 cents per ounce. 90% of what I eat is less then 12cents an ounce, often between 6-9 cents. After I purchase enough to eat on for a week or two, if my budget can handle an additional 5-15 dollars, I can get treats.

I actually think BP has made me thriftier, but I might be an outlier. I used to always pinch pennies - now if I catch myself wanting to spend money, I assume it's a symptom and stop myself.

But real tips:
-Couponing used to work very well until everyone figured it out.
-CVS you can get some good deals for free things etc (most of it junk food).
-Not buying gifts/celebrating holidays - did that for the first time this year, was nice.
-Not buying any new clothes for a whole year - did it one year, not as hard as it looks.
-Anything you have basically, especially electronics, can be sold on ebay or amazon marketplace. I sold all of my stuff one thing at a time and didn't even have much nice stuff but made about 5-6k over a year or two. I haven't done it in a couple years but amazon was really easy back then.

Not so good/worthwhile:
-Leaving the heat off if it's winter where you are (I've done it).
-Can write to complain about products and get money back/freebies, especially useful if something was actually wrong.
-mechanical turk - used to use it to do medical surveys or other sites and get paid very little money but can work from home/own hours. i dont think the pay is worth the time, it's really meant for people in developing nations but i used to like doing it.
Thanks for this!

Sometimes I'll coupon, but to be honest, buying store brand is usually cheaper than buying a name brand with a coupon (now that most stores don't double coupons). I try to plan meals around what meat/produce is on sale. Plan recipes around what leftovers I have (leftover chicken can be used in a lot). I usually buy bone-in chicken, it's cheaper. I use the ibotta app, but only make back about $50 a year. But it's $50 I didn't have.

I try hard to stay stable to cut medical expenses.

I go to the thrift store to get stuff I know I can get there. Just bought my son 3 pairs of jeans for $9.

We love to roller skate. I wait until the roller rink has $1 admission. We have our own skates. We go for $2 lol.

Wonderful tips everyone.
As my husband flys to China for work we have FF miles. Use them to come here to CR free.

Credit card also has miles and we pay our bills and use it at grocery store.
Takes about 2 yrs for one free r/t to CR.
