When I'm depressed, I am almost never able to pull myself up enough to exercise. But lately, since I've been hypomanic and stable, I've been walking with my neighbor's dog. We did 3 miles today.

I like the dog because I can talk to him instead of talking to myself

It feels so good. Hopefully I can lose some of this weight I've packed on.

I need to exercise more, but I'm usually too lazy.

I have a lot of nice running/workout gear; I just don't use it.

I might go use the recumbent bike at home now...

Good to hear you're motivated to get exercise. Congrats

Since this depression, I look at myself in the mirror and I look like a different
person. Not only my looks, but my eyes and posture too.
I got to work on that I guess. Walk with self confidence again.

Little by little. You can do it.

Maybe the longest you stay in the hole, the hardest it will be to come out.

Aaaand, today my back is killing me. My thighs are sore because they're massive and rub against each other. So much for my 3 miles, I don't want to even walk today. Standing hurts.

2 steps forward, 1 step back, right? So much of bipolar is like that -- once you feel like you're doing well, something comes along and ****s it up.

Prilin, I feel like I look stupid too. Not so much my eyes or even posture, but being overweight. That's one reason I try to stay out of the gym, sadly. But then when I see people who look awkward or big, my thought is "wow, good for them. I need to get out and do that."

I think we tend to believe that people are watching us when they're really worried about themselves.

Good workout, keep it up!

And yeah, no one cares, just do your stuff like everyone else.

Awesome! Exercise is great. It releases all sorts of "feel good" endorphins in the body and it helps with focus. There's nothing like that good tired feeling we get after exercising.

Good pets can also give us peace. I love my dog - she's a kind soul even though she hounds me for treats and table scraps.

Roaming bird, walk like you own the path, and don't let anyone, especially yourself keep you from taking an enjoyable and healthful walk! I took a long walk yesterday, too and I have painful blisters to prove it. I think I need new walking shoes. Would wearing a new walking outfit give you a little more self confidence?

I talk to my dog when i walk her sometimes. Just nonsense or about what i'm looking at. I think people would understand when they see a person walking a dog and talking that they are talking to the dog. I don't worry a great deal about it. It makes me happy so WTF.
