I think she's awesome!

Thoughts?

Oh, by the way, about the sociopath thing. Not trying to create an unnecessary stigma, but sociopathy is pretty highly correlated with BP. It is most likely just due to lack of care during extreme states.. not something inherent. Not for most of us at least.

Anyway, I think this video is very straight up and real. It gives a good look into someone not trying to put on a drama show for the camera, while at the same time, seeming to be hypomanic.

I hope I don't have that eye movement when I talk.
I'm starting to think I'm not really bipolar.

Well i think the eye movements are because she is impressionistic with lack of genuine emotion.

Or possibly from trying so hard to hold back her racing thoughts.

Either way, she is not a good example of the population at large, just thought it was interesting because most other videos are like "OMMGGGG IM SOOO HYPERRER LOLOLOL"

I do the eye thing. It is part of how I follow racing thoughts with the goal of getting a sentence out. I also roll my eyes up as I try to follow; maybe looking for my brain to help out???

It isn't highly co-related. And she seems fake. I don't particularly like her. In fact, I could only watch her for a minute.

Through the video, I got to this video;

The sentence in end of the video got to me, "She brings light to others through her darkness"

What does that have to do with being a sociopath? ^

She doesn't strike me as particularly hypomanic, and she could blow our hard-earned notoriety if she's faking it. She could flash some credentials on her next video: I'd take a lithium blood serum level test result of at least 0.8 mEq/L, prescriptions and receipts for anticonvulsants and/or antipsychotics, or a documented FICO score under 480 as acceptable proof of illness. Another concern: if in her next video she brags again about her "hypomania", then gets eaten by a polar bear at a municipal zoo, we're all in for a heap of additional stigma.

Do you think other vloggers do "justice" and help fight the stigma?

I agree with the ones who wonder why this makes her a sociopath? I'm just asking out of interest. Maybe I missed something.

And is she just explaining how her hypo is to her and is she supposed to be hypo NOW?

I too couldn't watch the whole thing anyway. The only comparison I have to her is myself. If she's hypo NOW then she's talking quite well. But I'm not saying she's faking it. But my talking is racing and I often start to stutter or repeat words because I can't get the words out fast enough. As far as her looks go. No makeup, hairs a mess. That's me when hypo or depressed really.

If she's supposed to be hypo now then she's handling herself very well. I tend to go all over the place. Start off saying one thing and ending on a totally different topic lol

But I say we're all different! Your hypo may look different than mine and johns hypo may look the same as Kelly's. Just like, for one I don't clean when I'm hypo. I don't go crazy and try and do stuff. Instead I get super focused on my phone or a book and I'll sit that way all day and not realize 10 hrs flew by!

Maybe I'm just a hot mess!

I don't know what you mean by "justice" in this context, but genuine and credible vloggers could do much to dispel the stigma, yeah.

Um. Um. UM.

Didn't watch the video, it's probably as awful as other bipolar vidoes on youtube.

But dear, are you trying to tell me I am not bipolar since I have no prescription for APs and at least 0.8 mEq/L of lithium in my blood.... that I cannot claim to be BP? Sure, mine is pretty managed lately, but I am sure I do display signs of manicky behavior at times (harder to hide for usually).

Are there any really credible vloggers though? Most i have seen is just people either acting slightly hyped, crying or repeating things they read elsewhere ("What not to say to a bipolar person" and such).

Lefty - Who diagnosed her as such? I did, of course! Maybe i'm wrong! But, maybe i'm right!

Feel free to disagree. Seems like the stigma hurts a bit, which i tried to address in my first few posts. And why on earth would she be faking it? To me it seems like the most real video i've seen in a while. Maybe i am completely off based, i don't really care, i have to go to work!! ttyl

He he asked for proof of sociopathy related to BP: You can find this easily online - I'm not here to convince you of anything. In fact, i'd rather you believe the opposite.

So assume i am off based and have a great day

Hi, sorry, I'm in no position to tell you anything, I was making a joke.
