For Canadians:
In our Canadian health care system you need a family doctor referral to see a P.doc. Have any of you ever changed your P.doc from the one you were referred to? If so, how did you do it? Did you need another referral, or, as you are already in "the system", can you source one yourself?

Hello. I'm from Canada, and I was referred to a pdoc, but my pdoc and I agreed I should go see another. So what you do is either A: get a referral through pdoc 1 or B: get a referral through family doctor. I went through the family doctor. My pdoc and I agreed it was for the best, and I went to my family doctor and she referred me to the place my pdoc recommended me to go to. I waited 6 months to get into that place only to not be let in because of court issues with divorce of my parents and what not. Made me quite upset to put it lightly. I will see my pdoc for the last time in 3 months time. Then I will get a script from my family doctor from then on. Good luck

I am getting frustrated with my P.doc. He keeps giving me more and more Lithium and I get sicker and sicker (physically ill). He is in his late 60s, so I wonder if he just is not up on newer drugs. So, it might be time to change.
