All government offices are closed Everyone is off for the whole week.
Even some hotels and restaurants are closed.
The beach down here will be a mad house.
Because I don't have a church down here, and no kids to dye eggs with, I'm not really looking forward to it. You?

Semana Santa. Holy Week, the most eventful week in Christianity. Lots of things going on. Why not try attending services at one of the churches? You don't have to be a member to be welcome.

Hi Bipolar nurse!
Funny story. We went to a service closest to our Ranch. (We walk everywhere)
My husband doesn't speak Spanish,so for him it was doubly tough.

Then they started speaking in tongues!
And it went on And on. Finally we got out of there! Yikes.

I'm Lutheran and nondenominational. But not Pentecostal.

DH is stuck in USA because of robbery of house, lot and garage in High Desert CA. He was also applying for new international positions, getting burned out on China.

So, when caretaker is not here I maintain watch over Ranch.
I lost interest in decorations for holidays and dying eggs and making up baskets. Wish I hadn't given it up ,but DH has made it clear in the early years that it's a waste of time and gives him no pleasure whatsoever.

Plus he maintains that I get so excited and go overboard while he's left to put things away after the holiday when I crash.

My family was always super social. We belonged to 2 country clubs and made Easter bonnets and had so many parties. ( my mom has Parkinson's but still manages a fuller social life than I do. )

DH is the biggest loner I've ever met. When I was younger and not so beat down, we could be considered direct opposites. I was over sexed, social and charitable.

Now I'm more like him and I hate it because it's the worst part of my bipolar.

But for you, I hope you get a new frock and bonnet. Go to the park and hide your fancy decorated eggs for the children. Give up something for Lent. And take 1/2 day off on Good Friday for Church. Much Love.
