I've only had one pdoc, and he is wonderful! But I moved to another county, and being on Medicaid means I can only see providers within the county, so I had to change. I get to see him one more time, but I still had to switch to a psych nurse practitioner and therapist. They're good, although my pdoc will always be the standard by whom I judge mental health care providers.

I missed some lol. I'm on my 10th in 12 years but mostly because of insurance changes, utilizing a university psych outpatient clinic and a dr deciding to leave his office I was going to.

The last one gave up on me while we were tweaking meds for my severe depression. I ended up in PHP that week.

I honestly don't know how many I've had. The military system switches pdocs around so much it's impossible to keep track. Outside of that I've had two civilian providers; a NP who prescribed me way too many benzos for my anxiety, and my current one who so far is really good. She is the one who diagnosed me with bipolar after years of being treated for unipolar depression. I'm keeping her as long as I can.

In my 12 years since diagnosis, I can't even count how many. At the place I go to, it's like a starting out position for pdocs so they are always changing on me and leaving. I don't mind if I'm just getting refills. There were really only two that I will say I will never EVER go back to again. Horrible treatment, or lack thereof. When I had better insurance I was able to go to a better place where I was further diagnosed with PTSD. Then I lost that insurance and had to go back to my regular place. Back to the crappy short term docs. Then there's times I didn't even have insurance so I couldn't go at all. That wasn't pretty lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
