Does any of you have synaesthesia?

I don't, but I ask this because in a way it is transcending the senses, transcendence and/as conceptual and perceptual (as with objects/percepts) transcending being common in psychotic disorders (mostly so during mania).

In a way, but not a typical, strictly synaesthetic way, the changes in the largely autonomous, bodily processes we experience during mania (and depression) could be seen as a form of synaesthesia.

I am a synesthete. I can "taste" colors and words, and I see numbers and letters in colors. I've only tried to describe it to a very few people because they think it's weird, but I've been this way my whole life, and I used to have no idea that not everyone has this. It's not totally uncommon among bipolar folks from what I understand.

So now I'm depressed you need my old threads as a substitute for inspiration? It's getting boring here, right? Not really. Stories are great. Broader topics too, though. See!

There are probably not many with synaesthesia, though. I wanted to ask, BipolaRNurse, or anyone else that is a synaestete: does it intensify when manic?

Interesting answers to some of the other threads.

The only topic I can think of now is depression. Should be dealt with more broadly, in general, as well. A guide for those who are lost. Like me now. There is a best way out, but my memory is just clouded, so let's write it down for our future selfs.
