Not sure what I am feeling tonight but I am freaking out a bit.
I am pissed off and short tempered and I am trying to hide it
from by GF as best as I can.
I am usually pretty laid back but I think this could be the beginning
of a hypo manic phase. That is always when I experience agitation.
The little things are making me boil inside.
The T.V., her gum chewing, her voice is to loud etc...
I know it's me and not her but I am having a hard time tonight.
I need to get a grip on this.

I can not stand loud talkers and lip smackers.

Just say, "Honey, i hear you. You have my attention." And then just go back to what you were doing. If you hear her tone go up sharply, it's probably a question - say "Maybe", or shake your head northeast to southwest, or roll it in a circle. If her tone goes down, it's most likely a statement. Just nod your head.

Vwala!

I get like that sometimes. I need to do things and everything annoys me and I just can't stop. Usually what helps me is giving myself something to concentrate on for a couple hours by myself, but YMMV. I'm used to doing things alone and finding time for me, even around other people. My significant other is much more of a, we are here let's be doing things together, type of person. So I literally need to be away from them to feel relaxed, less pressure on me.

Ehhh yea isn't it fun? I've been like this 9/10 days lately. Maybe take a PRN. If it's late then call it a night and hope you feel better by morn. Or like others said, simply and politely ask her to stop. Let her know you're not feeling well. My bf knows to clear the way when I get like this Freaking out a bit

Recognising your symptoms early on is positive ... can aid to help you be more aware of your reactions.

PS: I can't stand "normal" voices when I'm manic. It sounds like booming in my ears

It's morning now. Here's hoping you had a good nights sleep and things will feel different today. Go outside for a walk. ;-)

Five minutes after I woke up I was right back to being pissed off.
I have a lot to do today so maybe it will take my mind off of it.
I have an appointment with the doctor today for a physical and
for some reason my anxiety is very high.
These things don't usually bother me very much.

My anxiety gets high when I'm hypo/manic, so if you are hypo/manic, I can relate. I think agitation can be experienced as anxiety, and agitation is listed as one of the criteria for hypomania.

Anyway, I tend to behave the same way when my mood is "up" or when I'm experiencing dysphoric mania. Chewing, lip smacking, loud TV, etc. p!sses me off to no end. Drives me up a f**kin wall.

I was feeling this way 2 weeks ago.

The best thing I could do was isolate myself when certain things p!ssed me off. For example, if your girlfriend's gum chewing irritates you, just do your best to walk away. I know it's not easy, but you'll thank yourself for it later. If you tell her that her chewing annoys you, she might get really offended and upset.

But of course, do explain to her that you're irritable and tell her not to take anything personally.

Best of luck. Maybe your doctor can help? I know you're going for a physical, but your doctor could possibly give some advice.

Grab that rod and tackle box. Get some bait and away you go.
Don't even say good bye. "I'll be back" will suffice.

Well it was a pretty tough day, my agitation lasted for much of the day
and then I became pretty emotional and now I am exhausted.
I feel spent and will be turning in kinda early today.
Hope I feel a little better in the morning.
Thanks for all the replies everyone.

I hope this passes for you and you land good. My pdoc just put me back on an AD today, being my last resort. I cried in her office. Literally because I'm scared of ADs now. I'll give it a shot but the first sign of dysphoria and I'm stopping it. That is the worse feeling and I don't wish it on anyone. I don't know if I mentioned it or not but I take risperdal for when I get like this. It curbs the anger aspect of it. I usually try and take naps too. At least to stay out of my families hair. A PRN helps.

Edit: adding that sensitivity to sound is common when dysphoric and/or hypo. I have to turn the sound on my phone off all day long at times.

You definitely need to go fishing, my friend! I know how you feel. My mothers voice is like nails on a chalkboard when I get to feeling like that. It's so hard to keep my patience. I literally have to leave the room for awhile.

I think I may be feeling a little better this morning.
Last night I went from emotional to depressed and then I
just went to bed. So far this morning I am feeling pretty stable.
This bipolar stuff can be such a roller coaster ride. Sheesh.

Sorry you are having a bumpy ride. I totally relate as the others above do. I've been hypomanic but not happy feeling - irritable and frankly just getting angry and agitated easily. I don't have much of an angry temper so I knew something was off. I just told my boyfriend (also bipolar 1) how I was feeling and he gave me a little space. I took a Klonopin and read my book, away from the television on, etc. Geodon helps me too, with it (manic tendencies)....I take it with food and am guaranteed a good night's sleep and wake up with a smile. lol

Take care and hang in there xo
