I know feeling clumsy and drunk are pretty typical side effects when taking Gaba (for anxiety). Just wondering if anyone has experience with how higher doses affect these side effects. Is the effect proportional to the dose? Also, anyone get a headache from Gaba or lamictal? I'll ask my pdoc too I just wanted to hear some first hand experience.

No headache or side effects here on lamictal. I take 300mg and have been taking lamictal for 7 years. When I took Gabapentin I was a bit unsteady.

I had the drunk thing on gabapentin the first time I took it. They lowered my dose a few times and then took me off it (it was planned to be short-term anyway). When I was IP in February I was put on it again and have not had any problems with sedation. I don't understand but whatever I guess. (I am on another med that is extremely sedating so maybe it is just less sedating than the clozaril).

I had headaches on lamictal both times I took it but only in the early days. They really hurt though.

I take gabapentin. It's never made me drunk feeling. I have to take 2400mg (four 600mg tablets at once!) in order for it to somewhat work for my anxiety and then it just makes me relaxed and chill and somewhat high (like a weak benzo high).

I'd say the gabapentin side effects you're feeling should subside.
