Have you ever fallen in love with your pdoc or therapist?

Just wondering. I imagine it could be very easy to do...

No. I'm 24 and my pdoc is approaching 60. That would be like dating my dad.

My therapist is roughly my age (he's like 30ish), but I see him more as "friend material" than anything else. I've never felt attracted to him.

My old therapist was a 55-year-old woman and I don't swing that way. Plus, she's stupid. Stupid is not attractive.

Nah, but there is a particular counselor at the local behavioral health unit who I fancy.

Haha. No. I actually just called and fired my pdoc's ***. I hate her. All she did was **** me up.

I've gotten really dependent on them, but not fell in love with them. I think falling in love with a therapist or pdoc would be more about your needs being met than any real love.

Totally fell for one of my pdocs. We slept together and it SERIOUSLY effed me up. She had her own issues though, so it wasn't as dramatic as it may seem.

Anyway, I get crushes all the time for authority figures, but I'm totally good with my current pdoc and t. And they're both pretty cute.

HALLIEBETH87 I used to have an Egyptian pdoc who was wonderful. Then I moved out of state. He's a senior now too. Haven't seen him in 15 years.
Thanks for this!

In a way, yes. But I guess it was more about getting attention, feeling listened to. He is much older than I am.

I think it is pretty common...I crushed on my therapist for the first few months...something to do with transference. I am over it now.
