I'm sorry you're under so much stress, but it sounds as though you're being proactive and dealing with it. Hang in there... you're doing the right things and the situation will improve.
Thanks for this!

Relax, a debt is a vote of confidence. It's a civil case.

Also remember, bankruptcy is not always a bad thing. Sometimes it is the way out and the fresh start that you need.

debt equals STRESS....Its ok..I claimed bankruptcy 3 times...It will stop when the bankruptcy is over...it stinks to have to pay for the bankruptcy lawyer when you have no money.

Here...does this make you feel better? I got told yesterday I have to pay 3500 to the IRS for my taxes....

I made 27000.....previous years I made 132000 and never had to pay.
All because I took a distribution from a 401K...I am livid!

I understand.

My bankruptcy was discharged back in 2010 and I'm ok. It's not the end of life as some people make it out to be. Whatever is not included that you still have to pay (e.g. student loans) keep paying regularly. I got a new car three years after and bought a house the year after that. So you can still buy things, but credit cards are a "no" unless they are secured cards. Lesson learned and continue to be responsible and you will be awesome. Good luck!

ps- I felt so much better after it was done! I was definitely relieved!

My husband was served a debt paper and gave it to the bankruptcy lawyer who handled it. He claimed bankruptcy 3 years ago and we've bought 2 cars together since then.
The relief when it was all over was so amazing.

Hang in there

I just reread this. You got served with these papers after the bankruptcy process has already started, or before? Because from my understanding, once you make your first payment, you have retained a lawyer. Anything that happens after that, you can defer to your lawyer.
