- what's the longest you've gone with no episodes?

- were you medicated/unmedicated?

- if it was a particularly long period of time, what do you think caused you to cycle again? was it random or did something trigger it?

Seven years, medicated (lamictal and alprazolam and/or clonazepam), becoming a parent.

Probably not more than a few months. Medicated and un medicated I've cycled. Haven't found the holy grail of med cocktails. Still looking for it along with the fountain of youth. I have went years and years being a functional mess and assumed it was "wellness". Now I know better I guess and just trying to get long term stability with less super UPS and suffocating lows. I need to keep a tracker and see how long I can stay in a stable frame of mind.

I hope you get years and years of stability in your near future.

Edited because I'm classified as BP1, but I think it still applies

I get depressed in the winter - I have SAD - so I inevitably get a med adjustment. So my answer is about 9 months.

Only a matter of months...5ish maybe? I'm still working on finding the right med cocktail for me. I've been medicated for the past 5 years (since my diagnosis). During no time in this period was I off medication...so it's just been life and/or circumstances and/or my brain chemistry just not being quite right.

A year, medicated. Usually triggered by the season or stress.

I can only go back about ten years, I can't remember exactly what I was doing before then. I was stable for about four years. Medicated the whole time with Trileptal and an AD (those have changed).
Looking back, I think I started going downhill after my grandmother passed. Its been really bad this past year. She was my stability.

6 years! No meds or anything, best days of my life. I was sexually assaulted and it all went away. On top of the bipolar I developed PTSD and the misery was unlike anything else. I had 2 of the worst years of my life and then met my husband, what a godsend! 15 years later and he's still hanging with me and my craziness!

I've gone 3 years between episodes unmedicated. Usually stress or changes in weather effect me.
