Just a little background.
I was on Latuda 40mg, Lamictal 200mg, Valium once a day as needed (which the PHP took me off of), Adderall 30mg twice a day, and Requip 1mg as needed.
I went off most of these in November when I lost insurance and was fighting them to reinstate it (they ended up admiting it was their fault).

So I started a PHP program and was put on the same. The only issue was my anxiety was through the ROOF.
They tried me on Gabapentin (Horrible side effect, felt like my body was on fire).
Proprenolol - No effect what so ever. Even double the highest dose.
And then literally said, "You'll just have to deal with it." That was encouraging.

So, I was discharged from the PHP program and found a new doc.

HOLY Cow.
He asked how everything was and I was very frank.
Latuda make me feel like I'm on fire, sweating constantly, tired/spaced out feeling, and down right miserable. (The PHP Doctor would NOT change it for anything. I even begged him, and he said no that I just needed to toughen up).
Lamictal - 200mg I guess worked. I honestly don't feel a difference but it's better than bad side effects.
Valium did nothing, it was like a sugar pill.
Adderall - Thank God, one of the medicines I'm pouring money into does what it is supposed to.

So, I've never met a more down to earth doctor. He spent over 30 minutes just talking to me. He was also hesitant that I was Bi-Polar. He asked, "What Bi-Polar questionare did you take?" And I explained I didnt. I was just asked, "Does your depression stay constant or come and go?" And bam, labled Bi-Polar 1 (ONE, Not 2 or Rapid Cycling, One!).

He flat out said, "I am 90% sure you aren't Bi-Polar. I've asked you questions and you haven't said anything that would make me think you've had mania. And, I am very taken back that you aren't prescribed anything for Anxiety which can link directly with Depression and, I never knew this and confirmed online, mania if you are Bi-Polar. (I was diagnosed 2 years ago, oddly enough by the same doctor over the centers PHP program. I didn't know this joining the program).
So, Latuda is NO more. Thank GOD.
My new cocktail is:
Cymbalta 60mg Once a day
Lamictal 100mg Once a day.
Klonopin .50mg three times a day (period, not as needed).
Adderall 30mg twice a day.

The past 3 days I have felt the best I have in months, if not years. I can sit still and think clearly. I have motivation that Latuda completely zapped. I have started continuing to write my book (on Americas Healthcare oddly enough). Cleaned the house and was able to think clearly enough to organize stuff.

Even my wife said, "This is like the old you back in college" (7 years ago).

The only "side-effect" is that the Cymbalta gives me like a "high" feeling. Not like manic go crazy high, but clear head and happy/loopy. Although I doubt in a few days it would make that much of a difference, but maybe this is what happiness feels like again?

Who knows. None the less, maybe after a 5 year climb I found my sweet spot. I can only hope.

Is anyone else on Cymbalta? What is your experience?

Hi mattjstead: You may have a chance at not being bipolar at all. (I'm NOT a doctor.)
I don't know any bipolar that can take 60mg of Adderall and fuction normally.
ADD, ADHD, yes. Many. Audience, please, correct me if I'm wrong.

Did I read that right... you're taking 50mg of clonazepam three times a day? 50mg?!

I've never been on cymbalta.

I'm happy you're feeling better!

I have to agree with the adderall and BP. It's a very bad mix and causes more depression when you come down or quit taking it. I had quite a struggle with stims myself and still trying to get back to my old self. And the reason Valium probably didn't have an effect is probably from the high dose of adderall. It's going to take a lot after 60mgs a day.

Cymbalta was a very hard drug for me to discontinue.
So,have you ever experienced an episode of mania?
In the old days they used to call it manic depression.

I haven't taken cymbalta, but wanted to comment that I'm really happy for you and I hope your "sweet spot" lasts.
