So I started 50mg of seroquel last night. Pdoc wants me to take one every night at 6 with food for 8 days and then we'll do an evaluation to see whether she wants to raise the dose or how I react to it. It did make me so sleepy about an hour and half after taking it. I still feel so groggy right now but she said that would happen. Is anyone else on this medication? How did it work for you? Whats your experience?

I take 50mg in the morning and 100mg at night plus I take 150mg XR (Slow Release) which I take at 5pm which stays in my system longer. If memory is correct I was really groggy when I first started it too. Sometimes I still get like that but mostly it doesn't have an immediate reaction on me maybe 5 plus hours later I fall asleep.... but least I stay asleep once I'm in bed

I've been on and off seroquel for 12 years now. Everything from 50mg to 450mg for sleep, depending on my tolerance at the time. When my tolerance gets too high I'll switch to another sleep med and eventually go back to my beloved Seroquel. Even though it's been my "go to" AP for all these years, nothing sucks like the hangover all day the next day. But it's something I suffer through in order to get sleep at night.

Seroquel is supposed to be for BP depression but it's never worked in helping mine. I depend on it solely for sleep. Right now I'm taking saphris to sleep but i have a bottle of seroquel that I take about once a week when the saphris starts getting week.

So as far as my experience, I'd give it a thumbs up for sleep but not so much for depression. But hey, everyone is different right? Good luck and sweet dreams lol. Started SeroquelStarted SeroquelStarted SeroquelStarted Seroquel

I started taking 25 mg of Seroquel as a secondary med, then gradually it became my main medicine at 200 mg. I take my dose at bedtime, and have about an hour before I'm too sleepy to do anything but fall asleep. So far it's been helpful stabilizing my mood shifts and other than a dry mouth, I'm not bothered by side effects. I'm not groggy in the morning if I've gotten a good 8-9 hours of sleep.

Had love-hate affair with seraquel for many years.
Helps sleep.
But I eat in middle of the night. Gained tons of weight. Trying real hard to eat less.
Maybe lost 5 lbs.

Going to try medical marijuana, if it helps maybe bye bye seraquel!

Well so far the second and third day have been better as far as feeling groggy and tired. I'm however eating a bowl of cereal at 11 pm from feeling very hungry. I can't do this everyday, not trying to gain weight. Now to wait and see if it will make me feel better.

I hate seroquel. Made me fat, tired, grumpy. It changed my personality, turned me into a zombie. And my body didn't like it at all. I feel much better now that I'm no longer on it.

However, I hope it works out for you. Know it works well for a lot of people.

(Just not me.)

Seroquel was not a good drug for me. The grogginess was horrific, and I found myself cooking meals at night and leaving messes (and the stove on) behind me. I got off it fairly fast.

I hope you do better with it.
Thanks for this!

I took 50 MG and loved it until I started to get involuntary movement of my head.

I take Seroquel for sleep. And I've taken it in place of a mood stabilizer as well. I quite like it. No weight gain or anything for me, and it definitely helps me sleep. I take 200mg IR at night, but pdoc said I can take 100-300mg, so that's really up to me and I think the sweet spot is 200mg.

It pulled me out of a deep depression but I was too groggy and out of it in the morning. I would go to sleep at nine and wake up at six thirty for work but I was out of it until at least ten or eleven. I'm a teacher and had class first period so I had to ditch it. If I wasn't working it might have been ok.
