I was talking to a friend about how I get so discouraged because I want to be very successful in life but I feel as if bipolar is/will hold me back. But she told me that it's suspected that Winston Churchill was bipolar. I did some research and found out that some think Theodore Roosevelt was bipolar as well. This encouraged me so much!
Do you know anyone famous, successful, your role model, etc. who shares this diagnosis?

Well, define success I suppose. I think of people like Robin Williams, Carrie Fisher, Stephen Fry. But many others I suspect have it come to mind also. (Wont call them out). And other people who suffer mental illness like Brittney Spears, Maryln Manroe (suspected BPD which is pretty common knowledge I think). Many might not consider them successful, but it depends on how you define success and the extent of your illness. They have been very open about their failures, or have been quite unwell in the public eye and still managed to regain their dignity. With Robin, it's tragic, and I know some will be furious with me for saying so, but he died on his own terms. I respect him for it but cannot explain why without writing an essay. Success can be measured in various ways.

Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse were never officially diagnosed, but experts suspected they both had bipolar disorder.

i often think that the singer katy perry has it.

some of her songs seem to suggest it.

I hear that! I often find myself feeling resentful towards them, especially when people (who aren't BP) bring them up like, "Oh, well [this person] has BP and did [this or that]," you know, not seeming to realize that super famous and successful people like that are really he exception, not the norm. It's like, well, I guess if they did it... it's not that effing simple!

There's an astronaut that has it.
Diagnosed because some days he drives the rocket forward and other days backwards.
