Just having a hard a time dealing with one. How do you manage if you can't get away? Bc it's happening the one safe place you thought you could come. I think the person is a dirty old man and reminds me of of one of my abusers. This person has no consequences for their behavior. It sucks. How would you handle it?

Does he approach you and say these things to you? Or are you overhearing him say these things?
And where is this? Is this at work where you can complain to one of your managers? |

Tell him off. Unload on him like you are telling off your actual abuser. It'll feel good and he deserves it.

yeah, I'm with BB. It really depends on the situation. You don't want to unload in a work situation when it might be more appropriate to go to a supervisor.
Or you could make a neutral comment like "I would prefer not to talk about those things as we disagree" just to show you tried to be an adult about it. |

I'd utterly give them the silent treatment or show them where to shove it.
