Yesterday, a phone number I had never seen before tried to facetime me. Since it was the same area code as mine, I went to answer but the person would hang up before I could answer. Well finally I answered before they hung up and a man said hey. I told him I thought he was dialing the wrong number but he insisted he had gotten my phone number at Starbucks. Now, I can't stop imagining that he is a stalker and has somehow traced my phone by me answering. I am afraid.

Can you call him and politely ask him o leave you alone?
Or block him?
Or never answer when his caller id shows.

I can understand how these thought process would arise in this situation. Several years ago I began getting texts from someone and they wouldn't stop texting even after I told them it was the wrong number. I was already paranoid and so I became sure they were part of the gang stalking organization that was out to get me. It was very distressing.

I am very sorry you are feeling this way. Have you told your family about the call and how it affected you? Definately let your doctor know about this.

Jeez that's creepy. Ask him what he wants. Let him know you're not interested (assuming you arent) and if he doesn't leave you alone then block him. I'm curious as to see who this is lol

There are fake Facetime apps (most popular is called fake-a-call) that some people use to get themselves out of awkward social situations, like wanting to avoid talking to someone. They're for sale on iTunes. Lots of stuff like that, fake texts, fake calls......
