Do any of you drink caffeine? What kinds of caffeinated beverages do you drink? Coffee, tea, soda, energy drinks?

I actually don't drink caffeine anymore. Caffeine helps me concentrate better, but it also makes me sleepy! I've heard it makes some people manic?

I used to drink caffeine in college, though... usually in the form of an energy drink, like Amp, Rockstar, or Monster. My favorite was Fruit Punch flavored Rockstar. It had more caffeine than any other energy drink (as far as I'm aware).

Caffeine!

Heck yes, I drink caffeine. They'll take my coffee out of their cold, dead hands.... I like coffee and tea.

When I'm desperate I go for energy drinks. Usually Mtn. Dew Kickstarts. If I am really desperate and need a quick major boost, I'll go for a Red Bull (even though I know I will crash). If I'm mostly awake and just need a small push, a Dr. Pepper is fine.
But I try not too, I have to really need it. I go for making sure my sleep hygiene is in check so I don't need it, but we all have those days. Mainly the weekends for me since I'm lax on taking my meds on schedule.

I drink coffee and tea regularly, and occasionally I drink Pepsi, and rarely I'll drink Monster.

Coffee, the red bull (I used to go on red bull cruises, where I drove all over town slamming red bulls. Add a couple alprazolam to the mix and it feels awesome). I also like the sunrise and citron monsters.

I know it's bad for me, but I'm a parent and work full time and write at night. I can't be dragging *** all the time.

Caffeine affects me negatively if I have too much. It makes me shaky, weak, and starving, and also upsets my stomach. So I can't have caffeinated coffee or tea. But I will drink caffeinated Diet Coke, but if it's available I will drink the decaf. I'm trying to cut back on how much artificial sweetener I drink so I'm cutting the soda to one 16-20oz drink a day.

I drink a lot of Coke Zero but the caffeine in it doesn't bother me. But a bit like WildFlowerChild, sometimes coffee makes me weak, shaky, starving and upsets my stomach. It's too bad because i love how it tastes. But the last time i had it i had a stomach ache that lasted several hours so i know i'm tempting fate if i drink it. Sometimes i just say f*&k it and do it, if things are slow in my drop-in. I've never tried those energy drinks. After my time i guess. I'm 50.

Before my mood stabilizer I was super sensitive to caffeine and would get panick attacks from too much. I wouldn't be able to sleep if I had any after a certain time of day. Now caffein doesn't effect me at all

I can't have it regularly. Sad, that, because I love it -- and I especially love coffee. But caffeine can make me anxious and shaky and can even trigger a manic episode if I haven't had enough sleep.

I don't notice any effect. Usually 1-2 cups of coffee per day and a diet coke. I also try to focus on water and herbal tea.

That's interesting. One of my non-BP friends is super sensitive to caffeine too, and she gets panic attacks from it. She told me that's why she stopped drinking it.

I wonder what causes that sensitivity?

I haven't had a caffeinated beverage since 2007. I was using caffeine to get/stay manic and it was making me cycle on top of it. So I stopped cold turkey, which sucked, and then never let myself look back (except when I have a migraine and would love an ice cold Coke).

I go through short periods when I abstain from caffeine but usually I have 1-3 caffeinated drinks per day varying between coffee, soda, or energy drinks.

If I'm up, caffeine can keep the party going. Depressed, it can sometimes perk my mood but sometimes make me tired. Stable, 1 cup is fine, more can increase my anxiety. Caffeine is unpredictable for me.

I don't think you necessarily have to have bp for caffeine to effect you. Caffeine can increase anxiety in anyone.
And caffeine can dehydrate you and can upset your stomache, which is why I force myself to drink tons of water afterwards so I don't feel ill.

Getting a Keurig really controlled my caffeine addiction. Before I got one as a gift, I would make a pot and drink it. Then make another, and drink it. Keurigs helps by making 1 cup only and it's too expensive too have much.

I forgot to say in my other post...a few years back, I completely cut caffeine out gradually when I started drinking beet juice. For whatever reason, beet juice acts like caffeine. So if you can stomach it and want something completely natural and really healthy, try that!

I drink coffee and tea. Occasionally pop. Caffeine doesn't affect me much unless I drink a TON of it.

I was the same way, energy drinks were the only way I would be able to feel good through out the day. But they raised by anxiety, so I had to cut back

yes. With school and work i have to drink coffe even though I hate it. I have found that it kind of boosts my mania and since I have discovered that I am addicted to my manic episodes, the coffee does make life better.
