I have an insanely high tolerance and I hate it because meds will often just poop out and I can't go up a dose without it being dangerous. I can't take my benzos on back to back days. And you should see me drink lol. And I'm only 5"4 and 98lbs.

I have a low tolerance for meds. I get ****ed up side effects from just about everything. And anything sedating, forget it! I'm out for like twelve hours. Just .5 of klonopin makes me fall asleep. If I need to chill out I'll pop a vistaril or Benadryl because I'll be calmer but able to stay awake. I can't take any kind of sleep med or else I won't wake up on time in the am. Only thing I could take without grogginess was trazadone.

I have a low tolerance for alcohol too. Six drinks gets me comfortably drunk.mmore than that and I'll start slurring and losing balance. I usually get myself a six pack and stick with that if I want to be functional the next day.

I haven't been on meds for very long, but... Latuda stopped working for me 2 or 3 months after I started it. I've just started Lamictal, so who knows how long that's gonna last. I don't really have high hopes. lol.

I'm roughly the same size as you and I get buzzed somewhere between 1-2 beers! Well, I'm 5'5" 105

So yeah... apparently I can't tolerate much alcohol, but I can tolerate meds?? I have a high tolerance for ibuprofen and all that stuff too

Benzos, gabapentin and lamictal way high.

Alcohol... pretty damn low. I get drunk off of one beer. Like right now. Pretty intoxicated. Sad I know. Back in my drinking/pre med days it was really high. Like I used to drink a bottle of vodka a day. Those big ones too.

Depends on the medication. I can tolerate a high dose of klonopin, which I use prn, but other drugs really hit me hard.

my tolerance to physical pain is extremely low.

not great really, when everything feels like an operation.

they say that if you do things yourself, it's less painfull- because you're doing it at a level that works for you.

well... not for me.
i also have a low tolerance for people.

i can not bear stupid comments/ responses
or people that just want to talk, and talk, and talk

personally.. give me a world without people- and i'll be content with it. honestly

Are we just talking about medications or tolerance in general. My irritation and intolerance - especially for idiocy - grows as I become hypermanic. I have a pretty low tolerance level matched with high standards and expectations to begin with. I become easily irritated and aggrivated.

As for medications, I have never given a great deal of thought to it. I am on pretty high levels of both Seroquel and Lithium which I guess would suggest my tolerance level is pretty high.

I'm very sensitive to meds. I can drink a lot if I let myself, but my behavior will show my low tolerance. I don't drink for this very reason.

I have a very high tolerance to meds which has advantages and disadvantages. Side effects were rarely a problem, but meds did tend to poop out over time. Dosages were often higher than for other people. It did allow my pdoc to try things that other patients couldn't physically tolerate though which may have helped me along my way to stability.

I don't know. Seroquel I was taking 900mg a day and functioning fine, but 20mg of Geodon? no way. 200mg of clozapine in the morning I can do, but 2mg of Abilify will **** me up. I guess it depends on the med.

I get every side effect, but I persevere, and then I metabolize them so well my pdoc has to fight insurance to get me higher doses. But bc of side effects, I'm kinda limited in what I can take. I was very good at taking illicit drugs when I was younger. CHAMP.

My doc was running 40 minutes late and I was double booked with therapy, but I was going to tell him, it's time to switch AP. 240mg Geodon ain't doing didly. Saphris time? Very nervous. Cannot gain weight. CAN NOT.

I have a super high tolerance to any 'fun drugs' (booze, weed, opiates, benzos etc.) but my tolerance to regular psych meds is kinda low. I get all the side effects. Sigh.

Thanks for this!

I have a high tolerance of meds...that is what my pdoc says at least as it is his reasoning for such high dosages.
