Which do you prefer, and why: Star Trek or Star Wars? Are you a Star Trek or Star Wars person?

Do you like the SF (or fantasy) genre?

Never watched Star Trek to be honest. (I know.. I know!!)

So for now, probably Star Wars... but my opinion may change

I don't mind sci-fi stuff. I've watched a lot of sci-fi movies... but never any sci-fi tv shows.

Star Trek. It resembles our possible future along with carrying some of our military manners of today.

Star Trek for sure. I have never been a Star Wars fan at all. While I do like SciFi (I also love Stargate)...Fantasy is really what I love the most. I was a big Dungeons and Dragons nerd and now I play its European equivalent, Rolemaster. Also into board games....Euro games like Terra Mystica, Brittania and Advanced Civilization (not Sid Meiers Civ....the one published by Avalon Hill in the early 90s).

Big time Treky! There is a lot more physics in Star Trek. In fact they had a physicist on staff as a consultant. Physics fascinates me. As Data would say, " Fascinating!"

I really didn't expect this. Interesting. I'll admit Star Trek can be nice.

But I very much prefer Star Wars.

It's based on wisdom rather than the natural sciences. There's really not that much "science" in it. More like fantasy. But still in space and on beautiful planets with strange creatures (which don't all look like humans).

I like how Star Trek TNG is based on classic novels and plays and features classical music. The contrast.

really no reason to have to decide between the two ... star trek involves humans and the plant earth ... star wars ... is far far away .... there may have been a human in the bar scene in a nasa "type" space suit ... but really there are completely seperate in all ways ... enjoy both ...

Star Trek...much better writers

Love both SF and fantasy even like the sword and sorcery books.

I love all things sci-fi. Star Wars has a bit of an edge. I love the play between the light and dark side. It parallels real life complexity with good and evil.

I like them both. My favorite Star Trek was next generation. I actually hadn't seen Star Wars until this past year, but I enjoyed the ones I watched.

I like some sci fi/fantasy stuff and some I don't care for. Just depends.

Star Trek because it is true Science Fiction. And every emotional moment in the series makes me choke up a little.
