saw something on msn today.. they were asking if you won a million dollars in the lottery, would you tell anyone?
or keep it a secret

i'd deffenetly keep it to myself- i couldn't stand the pubblic interviews and stuff that would happen if i started going round telling people i'd won

then their' be the people who want the money for themselves... just no

Won't people find out anyways? If you win, your name is in the public records. It's meant to keep the lottery transparent so that the general public knows the winner is a real person.

In other words, they release your name whether or not you do an interview... which sucks because it puts you at risk for getting robbed, etc..

But, if my name wouldn't be made public, then yeah, I would keep it a secret.

Yeah, it sucks. You waive your privacy rights in the U.S.

I guess too many people complained they need "proof" that a real person won the lottery.

It's a shame.

I am probably wrong but I thought the ability to remain anonymous varied state to state. Anyhow, yes I would keep it as secret as possible.

I feel like a million dollars isn't what it used to be. Most people wouldn't think twice to ask me for a house or something.

Now when you win hundreds of millions, that's when you change your name and enjoy flying around the world with nothing but your spouse and a couple credit cards.

Most every state if not all have to name the winners. Sucks.... but its public record.

Of course every " relative and family member would come running like a demon outta hell in hopes for a cash cow"

Personally I would take my winnings.... tell kids and a few close people in my life of course share my winnings to kids those friends and quietly move with no forwarding address.

There is a giant world to investigate and there would never be enough time to see it all but I would try like hell.

Some states allow anonymity but unfortunately mine does not.

If I were to win a lottery I would look into forming a LLC to collect the money and half would go to my son, the CEO, and half to me, the CFO. People could probably find out who the LLC belongs to but at least it would take some legwork unlike having my name and picture everywhere.

I'd keep it safe and under wraps.
