Do you compensate for being unaware of details or having a bad memory for details, bad explicit or working/short-term memory?
A distinction should be made between what I'd call, being detail-oriented and detail-orienting/-orientation. A distinction between being and purposefully doing. The autonomous process, as part of perception, by which details are noticed distinguished from a directed, intentional, deliberate action to compensate for a characteristic of (your) perception. Do you overcompensate, maybe leading to anxiety akin to, or a form of, OCD? Or do you feel detail-orientation comes naturally to you? I do overcompensate. Changes in natural detail-orientation and memory (and consequently trust, in others and myself; also compounding problems with trust not strictly part of BP) make things worse, of course. For example when writing. Dyslexia is (at least) part of the problem. But also a belief that no words are exactly what I mean, mostly qualifiers, so I use a few. Or I keep rephrasing (which is a great pedagogical way of writing, but I tend to do it, sometimes, when saying trivial things). Or things that rely on intonation. Being a linguist doesn't help. When talking, I often forget words (or phrases) so I compensate by using a few or giving descriptions. When manic, I still do it, just (a lot) faster (and more tangential due to associations). ![]()

Our memories are more or less split in two by abstractions, conceptual reductions. Mood states with memories, concepts, attached. Memories of pain and those of joy. It causes instability, changeability. Fearing that will leave an emptiness between pain and joy and a greater divide. See Me, Feel Me, Touch Me, Heal Me. |
