So once in awhile my seroquel poops on me and I'm stuck staring at the ceiling or taking some leftover saphris I have. Well there's no good movies showing on my ceiling and I don't like mixing too many APs. I remember a long while back a pdoc gave me trazodone but it didn't help. Well I'm willing to give it another go. Thing is I'm sensitive to ADs so will this knock me off my rocker as far as dysphoria or mixed episode?

Any suggestions or experiences on it?

I'm taking 300mg for sleep, and it's not doing jake. Giving it a week then calling pdoc again

I used to be on Trazedone to help with sleep too, it didn't do jack either. I am sticking with Klonopin. The only way it works is if I am already tired and I drift off to sleep. And yeah friggin alcohol makes things a hell of a lot harder.

Give it another go if you want, but if you had a reaction to it last time I would reconsider.

I find it interesting how so many of us have a variety of reactions to the same meds. Granted, I've never taken Seroquel, but Xanax does seem to help me with sleep. I actually prefer Ambien, but this will do until I can talk to my pdoc about possibly using Ambien.

Trazadone didn't work for me either. It's an old antidepressant and now appears to be used as a sleeping pill. I've never had a sleeping pill work for me; I think I've tried four different ones. Trazadone was hands down the weakest one that I tried.

trazadone made me manic!
The only thing that has consistantly worked for me is klonipin, .5mg at night 30 minutes before I want to sleep. But have to add that if I drink all bets are off....sometimes 1.5mg won't work...I know that I should not drink especially on a work night!

Is saphris an antipsychotic?
were you taking it regularly before?
I take geodon 80mg twice a day and it is a life saver for me.

I'm glad you crawled out of the cave. Was missing you.
Trazodone is a royal piece of ****. A good hangover and not sleep.
Produced priapism once. I stayed for too long in the hotub. Not funny.
It can do it to women too. Stay the hell away from it. I'ts very hard to withdraw from.

Yes saphris is a AP too. I take it PRN when the seroquel doesn't work. Right now I'm trying Latuda again but my next route is geodon. Thing is I have a new pdoc that I see on Friday and I don't know if she'll be ok with me taking saphris as a PRN. And if she dare take away my benzo... I will destroy the office lol

Thanks for keeping me In your thoughts! Yea I've been MIA and cycling/mixed. Trazodone was for sure a joke and I just got off the phone and my brother said I sounded drunk lol.

I want to say that I'm concerned for you. I know you don't want to hear it, but I think you are a drug addict. I can't help but think that the bipolar is fueled, not controlled, by your use of meds. You are not getting proper medical attention and treatment. I'm sorry for the tough love.

A drug addict on my prescribed psych meds? Lol I'm confused. The only other issue I'm having is weening myself off of suboxone wich is going great. I WAS abusing stimulants months ago that I was prescribed but that's long gone. As far as my current meds, they aren't being abused soooo yea.

However this posts is questioning a med, not talking about addiction. There's PMs for that but thanks anyway. Lol

I just don't want to be attacked in this thread about something that is OT. I'm the first to admit I'm not perfect but there's really no fun in abusing APs and I don't even take my benzo every day. All I'm saying. I was away from this forum for awhile and coming back to this makes me just want to stay away again.

You're a great person. I feel it's the medical professions fault that you are not getting what works for you. I didn't mean to make you feel attacked. I'm rooting for you and on your side.

I'm far from perfect, too, and not doing so great either.

We kind of have to be our own advocates when there's no one to really help us.

Thank you. I appreciate that. Maybe if they wouldn't quit getting rid of there docs where im at then my meds wouldn't be such a disaster.

Tarzodone made me literally crazy, physically sick and still no help for sleep.
I was in a full time near psychotic state. Even dropping down to 50 mg made no difference. Never again!
