So my t is out for the summer because of her mothers health issues. She has offered to do phone sessions with me. Has anyone ever had this done? Any different from regular sessions?

I've had phone sessions with my PDOC, but not a therapist.

Like Elsa, I have with my pdoc, but never with my T. I feel there's too much non-verbal communication for that to be effective. That said, I correspond via email a lot with my T, though not in place of face to face sessions. Why mention this? Not sure - although, it reminds me there may be other ways. Could you use skype or a google hangout to do a vidcall?

I have had few small sessions with my pdoc and it was usually when I wasn't responding to a medicine. You are right their are a lot of non verbal that will be missing out but I feel comfortable with my pdoc and hate to start with a new one.

I've done it with my therapist, mostly when I've been IP. Once we did it after I had a hysterectomy and I fell asleep talking to him. Oops.I've done it a few other times too. It's not ideal but does work in a pinch without narcotic pain meds.
