Social isolation can be considered a symptom of depression. However, I do not consider myself depressed, I would just rather be alone right now. Does this make sense to anyone?

Yes. I feel exactly like that. I have left a frantically busy full time job with a lot of travel that I hated but was paid well for, and I just want some time out to myself. And garden. Or walk. Or sleep. All my friends are ringing me to give support or advice or offers of work but I'm just happy being alone for now. I'll get back into it later, I just want some me time.
Thanks for this!

Yeah, I totally do this!

Are you overwhelmed by something? When I get too much "social stimulation", I get overwhelmed and need a break. I need to be by myself so that I can recharge.

Also, I want to be alone after work. My ass is beat by the end of the day.

I'd rather be alone most of the time, but sometimes I VERY much do not want to be.

I feel like it's perfectly normal. Most introverts always prefer to be alone

I am like this more often than not. I think it's part of being an introvert. I feel stable alone. Peaceful. I don't want to rock the boat.
